4-H is the largest youth-serving organization in the world. 4-H welcomes youth ages 8-18 who are interested in learning more about themselves, their community, and their hobbies or interests. Clover Kids is the equivalent to 4-H for children ages 5-7. 4-H prepares kids for the future, while making new friends and great memories. 4-H is part is a youth development program of the University of Missouri Extension, a division of the University of Missouri. Youth staff at your local Extension Center is in charge of 4-H programming.

The Japanese beetle (Popillia japonica Newman) is a highly destructive plant pest of foreign origin. It was first found in the United States in a nursery in southern New Jersey in 1916. In its native Japan, where the beetle’s natural enemies keep its populations in check, this insect is not a serious plant pest.

The Key Award, the highest award a 4-H member can receive, recognizes significant leadership at the club or group, community and state levels, rewarding hard work, accomplishments and contributions to the overall 4-H program.
